Lloyd Scott's 3 Peaks Challenge

Event dates: 4th October 2020 – 12th October 2020

Lloyd Scott is raising money for The Lord's Taverners

My story

Starting on October 4th i'm taking on my final challenge when I look to complete the 3 Peaks Challenge, dressed in a deep-sea diving suit weighing 130 lbs. I’m raising money and awareness to help disadvantaged and disabled young people, who are battling loneliness and isolation. The COVID-19 pandemic has left them unable to access the charity’s vital programmes to meet new friends, socially engage and develop a wide range of personal skills.

When I had leukaemia, there was a period where I couldn’t play any sport. It’s only when you have something, and it’s taken away from you that you realise how important it is. So, the thought of children out there that may not experience the thrill, excitement, enjoyment of sport really resonates with me. I couldn’t think of anyone I wanted to do this for more. You can see my launch video on the following link - youtu.be/boMU-Ei-cSk

I've fundraised for over 30 years through more than 50 events like this, including the 2002 London Marathon in a deep-sea diving suit, cycling across Australia on a penny farthing and an underwater marathon and walk from Land’s End to John O’Groats dressed as a T-Rex - all of which has seen more than £5m raised for charity.

The Lord's Taverners does fantastic work for disadvantaged and disabled young people in the UK and beyond through their Wicketz, Super 1s, Table Cricket and Sports Kit Recycling programmes. But with fundraising opportunities limited due to the pandemic the charity needs our support to make sure they can continue to deliver their life changing work.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto The Lord's Taverners.

My updates

Wednesday 21st October 2020

Now that the dust has settled and the aches and pains are easing (slightly). I am proud to let you all know that I have successfully completed my challenge and have renamed the mountains (Ben Nevis - Brutal, Scafell Pike - Spiteful and Snowdon - Vicious).

I'd like to thank everybody for your donations towards what is an amazing cause and will go so far to help change the lives of disabled and disadvantaged young people. It isn't too late to donate so please spread the word around your friends and family. You can see my summary video that we have put together on the link below. Thank You!!
