Our story

Hi everyone,
This summer, Ziyad and I are taking on a cycling challenge from the London Eye to the Eiffel Tower to raise money for two important charities: Kidney Research UK and the British Thyroid Foundation.
Both of these causes are deeply personal to me. My grandad, who was previously fit and healthy, sadly passed away last year due to a rare kidney disease. It's a condition that isn’t well understood, and I hope the money we raise can go towards researching these less common illnesses to help others facing similar struggles. Other members of my family are also currently living with ongoing rare kidney problems.
On top of that, last year I found a lump in my thyroid. At just 26, it’s not very common for males my age to develop thyroid nodules, and the only way mine could be properly diagnosed was through surgery to remove half of my thyroid. Thankfully, it turned out to be a benign tumour — but it took over seven months of uncertainty, biopsies, and numerous appointments to find that out. It was a scary and challenging time, and I know that many others go through the same experience.
I'm incredibly grateful to the NHS and the brilliant doctors who supported me, and I hope the money we raise can help fund more research into thyroid and Kidney conditions. Ideally, with more knowledge and resources, diagnoses can become faster and less invasive in the future.
We’re using this challenge not only to push ourselves physically, but to raise awareness and funds for the amazing work these charities do. If you’d like to support us, we’d really appreciate any donations — big or small — or even just sharing this page to help spread the word.
Thanks so much for the support!
Aaron and Ziyad
