My story
I have been lucky (unlucky?) enough to get a ballot spot for London Marathon. After deferring in 2025 due to knee injury, I will be taking on London Marathon 2026. Running is not my thing, I prefer a barbell and a workout out that is over in 8 minutes, and having had both my knees operated on (Sep 2024 & Jan 2025), with the doctor telling me running a marathon would be unlikely, I am determined to prove him wrong, but also to myself that I can complete this and finish (hopefully) in one piece.
As I have a ballot spot, I have no pressure to hit a certain target (but £1000 total would be amazing), but these are two charities, that we as a family have personally benefitted from & are very close to our heart and I would love if you're able to support them (and me) over the next four months.
Stars Appeal - a charity that supports Salisbury District Hospital. When our eldest was born after an awful labour, he was in NICU for five days. We as parents were able to stay in our own en suite room in the NICU enabling us to stay close to him at such an awful time. Some years later he had to stay at the hospital for ENT testing, again, rooms provided by Stars Appeal that allowed me to stay with him overnight. They do so much more, and are such a valuable charity to the people of Salisbury and the surrounding area.

Little Troopers - a charity that supports our children with mums and dads in the military. Military life isn't for the weak, and the demands it puts on our little people is unforgiving at times. Our two children have benefitted from Little Troopers numerous times, providing activities such as; GoApe, residential activity weekends, visits to the Royal Hospital Chelsea and not forgetting Christmas boxes, deployment packs and more. This charity is essential to making things a little easier when a loved one is away.
