London Marathon 2027 🏃🏼‍♀️

Running a marathon has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember, so when I found out I’d got a ballot place for the London Marathon 2027, I couldn’t quite believe it!🏃🏼‍♀️

I first got into running properly during lockdown. It became a way to get out of the house, clear my head on my daily exercise trip…. These days life is a lot busier with work and family, so fitting in the training is definitely going to be a challenge, but I’m excited to get started. 

I also thought it was a perfect opportunity to raise some money for 3 very special charities. I couldn’t choose just one! 

Alzheimer’s Society is close to my heart because of my grandad. Watching dementia change someone you love is heartbreaking. It’s also made me realise that my Granny is even tougher than we already knew! 

Weldmar Hospicecare cared for my mum’s partner, Steve at the end of his life. The kindness and support they gave during such a difficult time I know means a lot to my Mum. Steve was also one hell of a runner so hopefully can do him proud! 

Julia’s House is another charity that’s very special. They supported the family of a little girl I knew of, she was the same age as Rosie and would have been starting school together.  Hearing the care they gave through such an unimaginable time has always stayed with me. I’ll have something rainbow/unicorn on for you Seren! 

I couldn’t choose just one, so I’ve decided to split everything I raise equally between all three charities.
