Monte Carlo or bust!

London to Monaco - 1400km (on a bike)

Event date: 14th August 2010

wyndinho is raising money for TradeRelief

My story

Myself and another friend (James Copeland-Eccles) are cycling to Monaco in just under 2 weeks time. It?s 875 miles on the route we have chosen, which equates to 1408km or circa 100 hrs in the saddle, over 14 days! This is on a saddle made of what can only be described as a small piece of granite covered in leather. It isn?t built for comfort!
We set off on the 14th August from Trafalgar Square in London and will (hopefully) arrive in Monaco on the 28th. I say hopefully because the last 400km stretch is through the Alpes and none of Southern England?s BIG hills, that we?ve been training on, really prepare you for them!
This is all well and good but the main reason we are doing this is to raise money for charity. We would be incredibly grateful if you could donate some money (however small) on this site.

You can find out more about the charity at traderelief.org but here?s a quick synopsis.
Trade Relief helps people in some of the poorest areas of Kenya stand on their own two feet. It?s unlike a lot of charities where a large proportion of your donation goes on things like marketing and employee wages. Virtually all of the money goes direct to the people that need it. You will be raising money to help social enterprises in Kenya grow, provide jobs, perform social functions and do this in a sustainable manner.
Thanks,
Andrew
