LPT Gondar Ethiopia Mental Health Group is raising money for Health Action Leicester for Ethiopia (HALE)
My story
LPT have been involved with the Leicester- Gondar
( Ethiopia) Link for 5 years now. We have been involved in teaching medical students and nurses every year. The numbers of mental health staff are increasing in Gondar from 2 when we started to 6 now, they are still working out of one clinic room and are the only mental health service for about a 5 million population. We have agreed to raise £50,000 to build a small psychiatric ward. We need to raise about £10,000 more to finish the project. A group of us have just returned from Gondar- the build has now started! the land was being cleared when we were there ( see picture). Thank you for helping us to finish the build- our partners in Gondar will staff and run the ward and we will continue to support them in their work!
