Luke Crosby is raising money for WHIPPS CROSS BIG PUSH APPEAL
Event date: 25th April 2010
This year I am running the London Marathon. Having trained through the hardest winter since records began and consigned several pairs of trainers to the dustbin, I will be running 26.2 gruelling miles. To ensure that this frankly silly effort is not wasted, I am running the marathon for two charities.
This page is for the Big Push campaign to improve the maternity facilities at Whipps Cross Hospital where my son, Sam, was born.
Built in the 1970s, the Maternity Unit at 'The People's Hospital' was designed for 2,500 births a year. In 2008, the midwives there delivered over 5,000 babies, that's 100 a week!
The unit urgently needs upgrading so the facilities really support the great work done by the maternity team who gave us such good care.
The Big Push aims to raise £350,000 for vital equipment and resources. Please give generously and help provide the very best care for local babies and their families.
My other page for The Hospice in the Weald is at http://www.justgiving.com/Luke-Crosby
Thank you so much for your support.
