Lymm High School Afritwin Project

I did it! On 24 July at 6pm I set out to run the Lakeland 100 - a 105 mile race around the Lake District starting and finishing in Coniston and involving over 6500m of ascent/descent. I finished 38 hrs 3 mins later on Sunday morning. Though I've done some ultramarathons before,was the toughest challenge ever.

Lots of people have sponsored me and raised money for the Lymm High School Afritwin Project, which involves our students working with Qhasana High School in Mdantsane in East London in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Since 2003, LHS students have contributed to building facilities at Qhasana like an ICT suite and community library, refurbished classrooms and provided educational materials and books. Our students have visited Qhasana and worked with staff and students there. A group will be visiting in 2016 to take part in a week of teaching and other activities and all the funds I raise will go to providing much needed facilities and equipment for Qhasana. It is a great cause which provides practical help and builds a lasting relationship between the two schools. If you would still like to donate, please do!
