Bridge of Hope Children's Ministry

Event date: 17th April 2011

Katy and Tom is raising money for BRIDGE OF HOPE CHILDRENS MINISTRY

My story

Katy and Thomas Moore (twins) are running in the 2011 London Marathon on April 17th to raise money for the Bridge of Hope Children's Ministry (BOHCM). It is a Christian charity established to provide support to the many orphaned and abandoned children who live in extreme poverty in the district of Rukungiri, South West Uganda. We are committed to social justice and providing care to the children regardless of religious or social background.
Our aim is to build a Children's Village and provide children with a stable home in a family style bungalow with a permanent House Mother. Therefore preventing children from being forced to live on the streets where they are at high risk of exploitation and sexual or physical abuse. The village will meet the needs of these children while at the same time supporting the local community who report being overwhelmed by the vast number of orphaned children in need.
The bungalows will offer a stable home to children either orphaned or abandoned and cannot be placed in the community with a relative or guardian. The target age for these childrenwill be from birth to approximately 10 years of age and we anticpate that the children will live in the environment until they are 18 years of age.
Thank you for your interest and support...
