Marg's 2027 "Round in Circles" Three Counties Walk

I think a lot of people realise that, without the support and help of my wife Denise, I wouldn’t be able to carry out these annual 100 Mile Charity walks. Each year, for the past 14 years, she “set’s up home” somewhere strange and drives me to and from my starting and finishing points every day; cooks, cleans, nurses and generally keeps me walking for however long it takes. These days it’s taking longer!!
Those of you that know Denise also know that she loves her home and her garden so to take her away, usually at the busiest times of the year, when she should be waking her garden up or putting it to bed, is the worst thing I could do!! So, this year I’ve decided to do a series of 8 circular walks around various towns in the three counties of Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire. This means we can stay at home (that saves us about £1k!) and I can drive myself to the start/finish points each day. It also means that I can choose less challenging, more suitable routes for my aging limbs because I know the areas pretty well.
My walk will take place in April 2027 when I'll literally be walking “Round in Circles” around Worcester, Hereford, Gloucester, Malvern, Ledbury, Tewkesbury, Upton and Ross.
This year my 2 charities are the WRAC Association and Bowel Cancer UK. The WRACA do such fantastic work with female military veterans. My second charity this year is Bowel Cancer UK to support my friend and sometime walking buddy Jane Griffin-Ash who was diagnosed and treated for bowel cancer in 2026. It is thanks to these organisations and people that I am inspired to continue with my walks.
