Marg's 2024 Pembrokeshire 100 Mile Walk

Margaret Davies is raising money for Women's Royal Army Corps Association and The VC Gallery

My story

It's June 2024 and I've finished my eleventh 100 mile charity walk. This year I returned to my roots in Pembrokeshire. My father was a great walker and, growing up in Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire, we were ‘pioneers’ walking the first, newly carved routes which became the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. I walked to take in many of the castles and fortifications of South Pembrokeshire. In deference to my aging knees I tried choosing the flattest routes I could find! Not an easy task given South Pembrokeshire’s rolling hills and rugged coastline.
I am still raising funds for the WRAC Association as it is mainly thanks to them that I am able to undertake this challenge. In case you didn't realise it, It is now free (NO CHARGE) to join the association if you are a female veteran or serving female military veteran.
I am also still raising funds for a small but vital Pembrokeshire charity, the VC Gallery (Pembroke Dock), who aim to combat loneliness & social isolation for veterans and the community. I visited the facility during my walk and it is an incredible place that does an amazing job thanks to the wonderful staff and volunteers.
