Mark Ranson-Thompson is raising money for PEM Friends
Mark is running the Big Half (half marathon) on Sunday 1st September 2024.
In January 2021, Mark noticed some marks and blisters appearing on his skin.
Following blood tests and biopsies (and one brief misdiagnosis!) Mark was diagnosed with Pemphigus Vulgaris.
Pemphigus Vulgaris is an extremely rare autoimmune disease affecting the skin. Mark is truly one in a million!
Over the course of 2021 Mark's condition was variable, and due to blisters on his feet, he frequently used a walking stick, but often couldn't walk at all.
Thanks to expert care and treatment at Guy's Hospital in London, Mark will be running the half marathon race to raise money for the organisation Pem Friends who are a great source of knowledge and support.
Mark has run both the Vitality 10k in 2022 and the word famous London Marathon in 2023, this will be his 3rd fundraising run for Pem Friends.
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto PEM Friends.
