Mark's London Marathon 2021

I've been fortunate enough to secure a place in the 2021 London Marathon ballot. This will be my first marathon and less than 4 years since starting running from a complete novice!

In December 2020 my cousin Simon sadly passed away, he was only 43. Simon experienced a number of mental health problems throughout his adult life which made his day to day very difficult. In recent years he was helped enormously by the charity Sound Minds. Their work aims to transform lives through music, film and art and helps a wide range of adults with mental health issues. Simon particularly enjoyed taking part in the choir and any money raised through this fundraiser will specifically go towards it.

My marathon will be an enormous challenge for me personally but perhaps less of a challenge than many with complex mental health issues face on a daily basis. Please help support Sound Minds and I'll do my best to run a good race.
