Mayor Of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin, dancing in the Burrow Strictly Ball

Event date: 20th April 2024

Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire is raising money for Leeds Hospitals Charity and Motor Neurone Disease Association

My story

In April, I'll be taking to the dancefloor at Blackpool Ballroom to compete in the Burrow Strictly Ball!

Following Rob’s Motor Neurone Disease diagnosis in 2019, he has worked tirelessly alongside his family and friend Kevin Sinfield to raise money for others affected by MND and to fund vital research.

In entering this competition—along with my professional and brilliant dance partner, Bradley—I’ll be helping their cause by raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Leeds Hospitals Charity.

...And it hasn't been an easy ride! I've got two left feet, and I can't count for toffee, so I'm not sure this was my best idea. But you never know, my days as West Yorkshire Area Disco Dancing Champion may pay off and anything could happen.

So, wish me luck as I squeeze in dance classes wherever I can, and with some amazing competitors... the competition is on!

If you feel able to, please donate what you can. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
