Meg Forrest- Walk/Run/Cycle for The Fir Grove Centre Fundraising

For my 30th Birthday this year, I wanted to do something little special to give back to an amazing charity local to us in Southampton, that has helped me personally.

As some of you know I have had 4 miscarriages, 2 of which was missed miscarriages that required surgical management. In September 2025, was the first time I experienced this type of loss and it hit me so hard, I couldn't go a day without feeling anger or sadness. This is where Fir Grove Centre Stepped in (apart of Alder Trust). Fir Grove Centre specialise in pregnancy or birth grief or baby loss grief therapy.

My counsellor Gerry was an amazing character and did what most people struggle to do which is to get me to open up and talk. Without her, I genuinely do not know where I'd be today. She tapped into my logical brain and explained everything in a way that kept me engaged and interested. Now, some of you know I'm a mega geek when it comes to things psychological/mental health orientated and she loved it! She explained everything with diagrams and the medical reasoning which was fabulous for me, I learnt so much about that and my self.

There are so many people that need this type of counselling but cannot afford too, this lovely charity allows donations to help pay for this for those who cannot pay for this themselves. Let's raise as much as we can to give back.

We will be raising money in forms of baking sales, non-uniforms at work and attending their 2K from Shirley side of the Common to Taunton College. I want to be able to raise as much as possible for this amazing charity to help parents navigate baby loss in every shape or form. Thank you 🩵🩷
