My story

I'm taking on the Cotswolds113 Middle Distance Triathlon on Sunday 12th July.
For those who don't know this is a 1.9km swim in the lake, 90km ride on local lanes and finishing with a 21km run ... which all adds up to the magic 113!
It's all taking place in and around Lake 32 in the Cotswolds Water Park near Cirencester.

This is my first time at this distance so it's going to be interesting putting it all together on the day. I've chosen this event as it promises to be a lot flatter than my local events in Cumbria!

See how it's going on the day!

Vision of Adventure
I've chosen this charity based in the Lakes which enables visually impaired adults to be able to experience outdoor adventures. We have several members of the Kendal Tri Club who have benefitted and our coaches have volunteered swim coaching and guiding athletes in triathlons.
I know how much fun I have doing these things and this is a great local charity helping others to do that too.

Thank you for helping me smash my target and giving me the motivation I'm going to need when it gets tough on the day!
Thank you!

NEW

Think I’m ready!
Yesterday I had a swim in the bath water temperature lake, with an aroma of ‘pond’ and dragonflies and fish for company.    Today I registered and it was exciting seeing the finish line. It’s going to be a big relief to cross that and also emotional.
I’m so pleased I’ve smashed my original target and almost doubled it from that original £339!
Thank you 😍

A quick update to share photos from Windermere Sprint Triathlon today where I met Sue who was competing with Kath, Kendal Tri Club Head Coach, who was guiding her.
They had a great morning and it was lovely to see how thrilled Sue was to be able to take part, and to see how much it means to her to be able to do it through the support of Vision of Adventure and volunteers like Kath.
Her least favourite part was the swim (mine too!) and she loved the bike route (on a tandem) and the run.
I can only imagine how much confidence it takes to trust your guide and go for it like she did!
