Mel's double Marathon challenge 2023
Melanie Murray is raising money for Motor Neurone Disease Association and Leeds Hospitals Charity
My story
Sadly, my wonderful Mum lost her courageous battle with MND on Sunday 16th April 2023.
The feeling of helplessness watching my Mum as this disease took over her body was heart wrenching. Which is why I have run two marathons this year, starting with the London Marathon on Sunday, 23rd April 2023 followed three weeks later with the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon on Sunday 14th May 2023. I'm proud to be supporting two charities with this challenge:
Motor Neurone Disease Association will receive 50% of the money raised to be spent on research projects to take us closer to a world free from MND
Leeds Hospitals Charity will get 50% of the money raised to build a flagship centre for care, through their Rob Burrow Centre for MND Appeal.
This may not help my Mum but hopefully it will help others in the future.
