Mia Savident is raising money for Hypermobility Syndromes Association
After a long battle with not knowing why Mia was so tired all the time, in constant pain in her hips and knees, and feeling like her body was fighting her from the inside out, we found out Mia had Hyper Mobility disorder.
We went to many doctor appointments where we got told its probably growing pains, on Calpol and Nurofen which did nothing. Her hips would swell up and she would be screaming in pain, some mornings, I even had to get her dressed as the pain was too much. She was falling over a lot and seemed to be extremely clumsy and would be covered in bruises.
We then got referred to Hospital where we found Mia’s got hypermobility disorder and all the dots seem to line up. She has a lot of bowel problems on top with chronic constipation on medication everyday which we have found is also linked.
Mia was a super active child, she loves dancing, horse riding, karate and gymnastics! I know, how does she fit it all in I hear you ask. Plus, while this was going on she was in the cast of Les Misérables in the west end! But she would not let anything stop or drop and would not rest she always wanted to do things and got frustrated when she could not because of the pain. But she did and was one of those children that was good at them all as well, not fair.
But sadly, we have had to pause a lot of the sports as they hurt, or she is fine doing it but after can’t walk or sleep that night due to the pain being to much.
PE at school has become challenging at times and running is a big no!
So, in true Mia style she has set herself a challenge for her final sports day in primary school she is going to run the 600m race in aid of children with Hyper mobility and show them anything is possible when you put your mind to it.
This is not something she would normally be able to do so she is going to be challenging herself and telling hyper mobility where to stick it!
Please help support Mia but not only her support all the children with Hyper mobility that our standing up and fighting this invisible disorder every day.
