Michael Ferndale’s Reverse Running Record Challenge

Event dates: 9th October 2021 – 13th October 2021

Michael Ferndale is raising money for The Change Foundation and The Lord's Taverners

My story

The Reverse Challenge is five marathons in five days in the five capital cities of the UK and Ireland – all in reverse.
This unique Challenge starts with The Schools Reverse Day on the 8 October with my first reverse marathons in Dublin on the 9 October followed by Belfast, Edinburgh, Cardiff and London.
Funds raised for The Reverse Challenge will be shared by the two excellent charities: Lord’s Taverners and The Change Foundation, both use sport to inspire social change among young people and give them opportunities that many of us took for granted when we were growing up.

Covid-19 has had a far-reaching impact and consequences for so many of us – especially those that are disabled, disadvantaged or marginalised who have struggled with isolation all their lives, not just a few months.
Now more than ever, sport and activity have a huge role to play not only in our health, but also for the good of society.

I have taken on many challenges in my life by this latest charity challenge marks my toughest test yet, racking up a whopping 131 miles in the space of five days.
The mission of the Reverse Challenge is to inspire young people to do something different, develop new skills, friendship and encourage social inclusion.
This year will be the first Schools Reverse Day and those young people who doing things in reverse will shape an annual fundraising event leave a long-lasting legacy in schools nationwide and we aim to empower Young People Raising Money for Young People!

Thank you,

Michael Ferndale
