My story
Hello everyone. As many of you may be aware, I am trying to complete the Abbott World Majors, the original 6 stars. This year I am aiming to run the New York Marathon on 1st November 2026 to complete the 4th Star.
I have chosen to raise money for two charities - The Ellenor Hospice, who helped look after my mum when she was diagnosed with Myeloma cancer and supported us before she passed away are the first charity. They are a charity based in NW Kent who specialise in palliative care for adults and children and were excellent during my Mum’s short illness.
It’s been 3 years since I lost my Mum, and she is always with me when I run my marathons, and I know she would have been cheering me on.
The second is Pussycat Lodge, a volunteer-led rescue charity that has been helping vulnerable cats across Essex and East London for more than 25 years. After having to leave its long standing home, the charity is now raising funds through its Next Chapter appeal to create a secure, purpose built new base so it can continue rescuing, caring for and rehoming cats for many years to come. 4 of our cats were adopted from there and as I said, my Mum loved our cats and often went to their open days.
Pussycat Lodge: The Next Chapter
My cats have always been a source of comfort to me and lift my spirits and are always there for unconditional love and cuddles. My Mum loved having a cuddle with the cats when she was visiting and in fact had several cats of her own before moving in to sheltered accommodation.
I would be so grateful if you could help me reach my target no matter how big or small the donation as every little helps! I have added links to the 2 charities below so you can read all about their work.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and I will update my training story over the coming months.
