My story

The Paul Ridd Foundation has been created to support people with a learning disability to access equal health care. It was set up after the death of Paul Ridd in 2009 in Morriston Hospital, Swansea, from neglect.  Paul had profound learning disabilities, and since his death we have worked tirelessly with Welsh Government and the NHS in Wales to improve the healthcare experience of people with a learning disability.   We want to improve the healthcare received by people with a learning disability by campaigning for and raising awareness of the issues that they face, so that no other family has to endure losing a loved one as Paul's family did. Our aim is to empower people with a learning disability, their families & carers so that they know what support and help they can ask for, so that a good, positive and supported experience becomes the norm.  We will not stop until better healthcare for people with a learning disability  is embedded within the NHS in Wales.

Please sponsor us on our Midnight Walk to help raise funds so that we can continue our vital work, or please come and join us and get your friends to sponsor you too!
