Twinkle House is an amazing charity close to my heart, making a difference to the children and families of St. Richard's, and children and families all over Skelmersdale and West Lancashire.
What is Twinkle House?
Twinkle House - Making a difference to the lives of local children and young people with disabilities and additional needs.
Twinkle House provides practical and emotional support to children and young people from 0-18 with disabilities and additional needs and their families living in and around West Lancashire.
Their aim is to improve the emotional and mental well-being of their clients, supporting children and young people achieving their potential and improving their quality of life.
They provide manageable coping strategies, tailored to meet individual needs. Their strategies help to improve their learning ability, emotional intelligence, ability to relax and manage their own behaviour. This support enables clients to cope better with situations or difficulties they face at home, in the community or in school that might otherwise escalate into a crisis or disrupt learning.
Their help has already improved attainment and learning at school for many children and includes support to those who are at risk of exclusion. They also provide emotional and practical support to parents, carers or support workers to enable them to use the strategies and be more able to self-support.
Their multi-sensory studio is a non-threatening, safe, calming environment that is adaptable and acceptable for those with a wide variety of difficulties and impairments. Support is enhanced using their hi-tech specialist equipment and resources. Sessions are structured to meet specific individual aims and targets, supported by their fantastic, highly experienced staff and volunteer team.
