Mohini Patel is raising money for NeuroMuscular Centre and Women for Women International

My story

On 23rd Aug 2023, I will be flying out to Tanzania for the adventure of a lifetime to climb Mt Kilimanjaro

This is the biggest physical, emotional, and mental challenge I’ve ever embarked upon, and I can’t wait to be one with nature, above the clouds, amongst the stars and discover more about myself.

It’s a trek over 7 days with 40+ amazing FitBanker souls! We’ll be journeying to the summit at Uhuru Peak (5895m). As we ascent we’ll gain a new perspective and make memories to last a lifetime!

I’ve picked two charities I’d like to support and raise awareness for the great work they do, so here’s a little bit about why I picked them:

One of my best friends, Sanjay, is a beacon of love and light. He makes me laugh and smile and is always there for me! Sanjay has Muscular Dystrophy, and for many years he’s been visiting the NeuroMuscular Centre in Winsford. I’ve heard firsthand from him about the incredible help and support in not only his, but his family's journey with this condition and all the great work they do for the muscular dystrophy community. Please check them out here: nmcentre.com

Help me raise awareness and funds to support them as they support more awesome people like Sanjay!

In Iran, Afghanistan and even the US today girls and women now have fewer rights and access to education than their mothers and grandmothers did, I can hardly believe it's actually 2023! However, by having strong female role models in my family and friends and working with organisations that support women’s empowerment and education, I’ve seen that when you lift up women, you lift up humanity. Women for Women International does just that; they support women who are survivors of war and conflict and enable them to rebuild their lives. Hear more about what they do and who they are here: womenforwomen.org.uk.

If the women of this world aren’t free, then are any of us really free? Let’s lift up women and, in turn, lift up all of humanity together!"
