About us
Little SENDsations is a children’s charity built from lived experience, compassion, and a deep belief that every child deserves to feel seen, included, and celebrated.
We support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) — including those with complex needs and PMLD — alongside the families who care for them every single day. Our work reaches beyond activities alone; we create spaces where families feel understood, supported, and no longer alone.
Born from the reality of parenting a child with complex needs, Little SENDsations exists because too many families are excluded from everyday experiences most people take for granted. We don’t believe inclusion should be a bonus or an afterthought — it should be the starting point.
What makes us different
Everything we do is shaped by real families. We listen first, respond thoughtfully, and design our work around what children and parent carers actually need — not what looks good on paper.
Our events, projects, and resources are built with accessibility, flexibility, and dignity in mind. From sensory-friendly environments to PMLD-inclusive experiences, we make sure families know they belong.
We recognise that supporting a child with SEND means supporting the people around them too. Through initiatives like SENDurham and SENDchats, we connect families with professionals, peer support, and trusted information — bridging the gap between services and real life.
From sensory storytelling and inclusive events to outreach projects and awareness campaigns, we create joyful moments that also build confidence, connection, and understanding.
Our impact
Little SENDsations works across County Durham and the North East, supporting families who are often overlooked or excluded due to the complexity of their children’s needs. We amplify parent carer voices, challenge barriers to inclusion, and work collaboratively with professionals and communities to create change that lasts.
Whether it’s a child experiencing their first truly accessible event, a parent carer feeling heard for the first time, or a professional gaining deeper insight into inclusive practice — every moment matters.
Our vision
We dream of a world where children with SEND are not an exception to the rule, but a valued part of every community — and where families no longer have to fight to belong.
That’s what Little SENDsations stands for.

Being a non-profit charity all money raised in donations goes back into the charity to help us continue to provide events and activities at an affordable price. If you would like to fundraise for us, we would greatly appreciate it, and please get in touch!
