Ortho Consulting Group are raising money for Primary Trauma Care Foundation
Moving with Meaning
This October, Ortho Consulting Group, Ortho Surgical Skills Centre, Osteotec, and Medddbase UK will be taking on our fundraising challenge, Moving with Meaning. Taking place over two weekends, our goal is to collectively travel 1,000 kilometres in support of Life+Limb.
The Challenges
Stage 1: The Marathon | October 18
42 km across the Berkshire Downs and The Ridgeway, walking the full marathon distance. This challenge will be taken on by a group of 15 team members.
Stage 2: Waterways | October 25
8 km along the Kennet & Avon Canal, walking the distance together as a team.
In addition to these events, our teams across the UK and international markets will be logging their distances virtually by walking, running, or cycling. We would also like to welcome anyone who would like to join us virtually and help contribute towards our target of 1,000 kilometres. Traumatic Injury remains one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide, with more than five million deaths each year, exceeding the combined toll of many major infectious diseases. Globally however, training in primary trauma care is woefully underfunded. Since its founding in 1996, Life+Limb has trained nearly one million healthcare professionals across 92 countries, delivering approximately 160 training courses annually to frontline Healthcare professional predominantly working in low-resource and low-income environments. Every £50 raised can support the training of one frontline health worker. Reaching our £3,000 target could therefore support the training of 60 health workers, helping equip clinicians with the skills they need to provide essential trauma and emergency care.

A group of 24 colleagues, friends and family came together on Sunday for our final 8km Waterways walk along the Kennet & Avon Canal in support of Life+Limb – Primary Trauma Care Foundation.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, contributed towards our distance target and donated to support this important cause. Every step has helped us get closer to our goal!
One of our colleagues in Sweden also contributed to the distance with an evening run alongside their daughter!
