Murphy's Christmas Project

Last Christmas, we started Murphy’s Christmas Project with one simple wish: to spread a little kindness and make Christmas brighter for dogs who needed it most. With the help of some truly wonderful people and businesses, we raised over £1,000 worth of donations for our local dog rescue, and seeing how much we could achieve together meant the world to us.

This year, our project means more to us than words can explain. In July 2026, we unexpectedly lost our beautiful chocolate Labrador, Murphy, at just five years old. He was so much more than a dog to us. He was our baby, our best friend and a huge part of our world. We never imagined we would have to say goodbye to him so soon, and learning to live without him has been heartbreaking.

But we know that Murphy’s story doesn’t have to end here. We want to continue the legacy we started together last Christmas, doing something positive in his name and helping other dogs who deserve love, safety and a chance at a happy life. We want to keep spreading the kindness that Murphy inspired in so many people, and we’re calling it spreading Murphy magic. 

This year, we have chosen to support two incredible charities, each doing something very special for dogs in need.
🐾 The Doris Banham Dog Rescue rescues dogs from pounds, including those at risk of being put to sleep, giving them a chance at a new life when they need it most. Their work means that dogs who might otherwise be overlooked can have hope for a brighter future.
🐾 Broken Biscuits supports disabled dogs, helping them receive the care, support and love they deserve. We believe every dog deserves to be valued, whatever their needs, and we want to help give these special dogs the best possible quality of life.

We would love to raise money, collect much-needed supplies and bring a little extra Christmas magic to both charities. Every donation, no matter how small, could make a real difference. And if you’re unable to donate, sharing our project and helping us spread the word would mean just as much.

We know we can’t have Murphy back, and nothing will ever fill the space he has left in our hearts. But if we can help other dogs because of him, then something beautiful can continue to grow from the love we will always have for him.
So, this Christmas, we’re asking you to help us keep Murphy’s legacy alive. For the dogs still waiting for their happy ending, for the ones who need a little extra help, and for our boy who made us want to do this in the first place.
