Newcastle University's Dragon Boat Team Fundraiser for Pathways 4 All July 11th 2026

This July a team of Newcastle University colleagues will be taking part in Dragon Boat Race 2026 on the Quayside in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. On Saturday 11th July we will compete alongside other teams on the river in large canoe-like vessels fitted with ornately carved dragon's heads and tails. It will be a spectacular and exciting event, with members of the public hopefully cheering teams on as we race along the beautiful Tyne.

As well as getting our adrenaline pumping we will be motivated to raise funds for an amazing charity called Pathways 4 All. Anything you can donate in the run up to the event as well as on the day will help immensely and each and every donation means the world to the whole team. 

Pathways 4 All is a charity based in the North East that provides specialist play, leisure, and support services for disabled children and young people and their families. It offers services including family-focused events and seasonal parties; supervised youth activities for children, teens and young adults, plus very popular Easter and Summer holiday play-schemes and Christmas events. Other activities include providing family carers with the opportunity to come together for parent-to-parent support at our regular term-time coffee mornings. The majority of services operate from the Tim Lamb Children’s Centre in Benton.
