Nick Warburton is raising money for Manchester Foundation Trust Charity

My story

Hi all,
I am taking part in the inaugural charity bike ride from manchester to liverpool on Sunday 28th June 2009.
This inaugural Bike Unite for children event will see the Liverpool's Alder Hey Imagine Appeal and New Manchester Children's Hospital Appeal join forces to raise money for the children of the North-West region!
The Manchester to Liverpool cycling challenge will see me cycling 37miles / 60kms alongside the Bridgewater Canal and Trans-Pennine Way, reaching Liverpool via the Liverpool loop line cycle way.
This challenge starts from Salford Quays at The Lowry and finishes at Calderstones Park, one of Liverpool's most attractive parks.
The route leaves Manchester through Old Trafford and Stretford along the Bridgewater canal and then joins the Trans-Pennine Trail and through Lymm and Hale. The route continues through Halewood and finishes in Liverpool via the loop line cycle trail.
In June this year, Manchester's much loved Booth Hall and Royal Manchester Children's Hospital will move to a new state-of-the-art hospital in central Manchester. The incredible new children's hospital, will be located on the site of the current Manchester Royal Infirmary and will be the largest children's hospital in the UK.
The New Children's Hospital Appeal aims to raise £20 million to help fund projects within the new hospital. The appeal will focus on two main areas:
Ensuring that the new state-of-the-art buildings have the very best equipment available for diagnosis and treatment
Providing accommodation so the parents can stay close to their child during treatment
If you would like to know more about The New Children's Hospital Appeal please contact the Appeal Team on 0161 276 4522 or check out newchildrenshospitalappeal.org.uk
The New Children's Hospital Appeal is part of Central Manchester & Manchester Children's University Hospitals Charity. Registered charity number 1049274.
