Event date: 16th April 2011
Nick is raising money for Friends of the Peak District
Friends of the Peak district is a great local charity which works to protect the Peak District national park. They campaign against nasty things like 4x4 offroading, champion positive environmental measures like micro-hydro, organise volunteer conservation work, and do cool events on everything from local ice-cream to bee keeping.
On 16th April, they held a sponsored walk to celebrate 60 years of the Peak District national park which they helped create. I set myself the challenge of joining the 15 mile walk, and to make it more interesting, cycling the 15 hilly miles from my house to the start (and back at the end...). I'm glad to say I made it! And we had glorious weather.
Thanks for all the donations and support so far. Many of the 'pledges' below have already sent in payment direct, which means that we've already made the £500 target. Any additional donations very warmly welcome.
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Friends of the Peak District.
