Lucy Ventrice is raising money for Against Breast Cancer
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and as many of you know the 18th October will be the 4 year anniversary that my amazing twin Emma found out that she had this horrific disease. A day that is still so vivid. What a rollercoaster it has been and still continues to be since then, but thanks to all the research that goes into this disease I am so grateful we have her still here along with our miracle niece and goddaughter Olivia. We now know that we live with the gene BRAC1 which increases our chances of getting breast or ovarian cancer by 65-85% and whilst we can have life changing surgery to reduce the risk, I live in hope that a cure will be found before our children grow old enough to have to be told about testing themselves.
And that's where the charity Against Breast Cancer comes in! Their aim is ultimately to discover a vaccine against breast cancer. To raise money for this fantastic charity myself and my friend Jemma will be ticking another thing off our bucket list before we hit our 40's and we'll be taking part in a tandem skydive on 8th October. 18th October will also mark Jemma's significant birthday too!
So dig under the sofa for any extra pennies you might find and donate as much or as little as you can to help us support this worthy charity! Thank you in advance xx
