Pedro's Appeal

PEDRO, JUST AN ORDINARY BLACK CAT WHO IS IN NEED OF HELP TO REPAIR HIS DAMAGED LEG.
 
My name is Pedro and I’m a young black cat.  For several weeks I was living on handouts from a very kind lady who brought food for me on her way to work.  In March 2026  I had an accident and hurt my leg.  It hurt so much that I couldn’t put any weight on it.  The kind lady noticed I was limping so she took me to a vet.  They found out that my leg was fractured, but thought it would heal if I rested it, so I had to live in a cage for 6 weeks.
 
I really didn’t like being in a cage, but I put up with it, however I let it be known that I didn’t like it, but shouting a lot.  After 6 weeks my leg was still hurting so I had another
X Ray which showed that the ligaments were not working properly.  Oh dear.  Not what I wanted to hear.  I heard the vet and my carers talking and I wasn’t sure if I would have to have my leg amputated.  I really didn’t want that, so I put on a pleading look and convinced the people caring for me to find a way for me to keep my leg.
 
On Monday 15th June I’ve been booked in for surgery by Adam, a very clever Orthopaedic Surgeon who is going to repair the damage.  After that I’ve got to have several weeks very strict cage rest, which I really am not looking forward to, but if it means I can keep my leg I’ll have to do it.
 
I am being cared for by Cheadle & District Animal Welfare Society until my leg is better. They are all being very kind to me and are doing their absolute best to help me keep my leg, but the cost of the surgery and after care will be very expensive.  It could be as much as £4,500.  How lucky am I that such lovely people care so much about me?
 
If you would like to help me by contributing towards my care until I’m better I would be so grateful.  I’m just an ordinary young black cat with all my life in front of me and I want to be able to run, climb trees and chase leaves which will be so much easier with 4 legs rather than 3.
