Our story

On Saturday 26th April 2025 a small group of dedicated supporters are donning their walking boots and putting their best feet forward to do a Sponsored Walk from Parwich, near Ashbourne, Derbyshire.   The age range of the participants is varied, with the youngest being 14 years of age and the oldest 83 years of age and there will hopefully be a few dogs taking part as well.
The money raised from this Sponsored Walk will be used to help pay for Bed, Breakfast and Evening Meals and/or Veterinary Care for the older, long term foster dogs and cats.
Just because animals are older or not as healthy as they once were, is no reason to forget about them and Cheadle Animal Welfare Society certainly won’t let them be forgotten.
Suki is a beautiful 10 year old Border Collie whose owner is sadly no longer able to care for her.
Stevie, a black and white cat, is approx 11 years old and has recently come back into our care as he is hyperthyroid and needs daily medication. His owner was no longer able to deal with giving him the correct dosage so his condition was worsening.
Maisie, a grey and white cat, is about 18 years old and she too is hyperthyroid as is Matilda, a tabby and white cat, who is about 11 years old
These older boys and girls are greatly loved in their foster homes, but need just that bit of extra care and TLC so we are doing our very best to help them and others like them. Just because they are older doesn’t mean that they should be forgotten. We hope you agree and that you will sponsor the walkers to contribute to the care of Suki, Stevie, Maisie, Matilda and others.
Thank you for caring.
