My story
Over the next year, ending August 2026, I will be celebrating my 70 years on this planet by raising as much money as I can for 2 charities: Greenpeace and Circus Eruption. In exchange for your sponsorship, I will be swimming 70 km (at least) in the sea, rivers, lakes, ponds and pools – as much as possible wild, fresh (ish) or salty water, possibly chlorinated or sewered. I will be swimming, where possible, with old and new friends, probably towing a rubber duck. There will be no hand puppets involved.

Also on 2nd August 2025 I will be gathering friends together in Swansea celebrating on a beach and having a mass swim/paddle as part of the day – more details on that later but please save the date if you’d like to join me.

Birthday swims yesterday with a fabulous crowd of friends and family added up to another kilometer
Still in Tadley while Rosa in hospital so I did another sneaky 1.5 km in Tadley pool
Looking after my mother in law Rosa in Tadley, snuck out for 60 lengths, 1.5 km at Tadley Pool. Bit sweaty, bit too much chlorine but a good stretch!
Swam 125 lengths underwater in Andi and Clemens' 8 metre pool in Mönchengladbach! That's another km done!
Another 2 circuits of Freilinger See on Thursday and Friday then a mass swim with our German singing family on Thursday afternoon. Andi, Sabine and Mira finished the full kilometre with me! Clocked up another kilometer a third at a time with Carol so that makes at least 8 km in the Eifel!
