Projects in Palestine Symbolic Walk from the Jordan Valley to Gaza

Projects in Palestine is a grassroots charity that does incredible work in the West Bank, supporting agricultural, children, and women's initiatives. The charity has a 100% donation policy.

This Sunday, I'll be doing a 6-mile symbolic walk to raise funds for Projects in Palestine. We'll be walking "From the river to the sea," from Jordan Close to Gaza Close in Coventry. Thank you for any donations you are able to make for Projects in Palestine!

Below is more information about the various projects they run:

• Women: The charity supports Palestinian women in the West Bank by funding community and individual enterprises, which provide financial security and the means to support themselves and their families. The projects aim to empower women to work from home or in safe spaces like women's collectives. Previous initiatives include setting up a bakery, providing sewing machines for home businesses, and supporting a soap-making enterprise.
• Children: The lived childhood experience of Palestinian children is generally one of trauma and oppression. Projects in Palestine supports a kindergarten that fosters a safe and nurturing environment to Palestinian children to give them the best chance to have a healthy and happy childhood. The charity also supports another facility which integrates children with different physical and mental health needs, encouraging mutual understanding and care among students.
• Agriculture: The charity has agricultural projects in rural and semi-rural locations in the West Bank, especially for farmers who have land under threat of confiscation due to illegal Israeli settlement building. Many Palestinians do not have the resources to plant the land that they own. Projects in Palestine provides the trees, especially olive trees, and grapevines to collectively help make the countryside green, fertile and productive. Olive trees, which are harvested by the community, offer both financial support and a long-standing tradition of sharing olive oil with those in need. Grapevines offer a higher financial return, with both leaves and grapes being sold after a few years of growth.
