Race To Pirates Cove!

On 27th September 2025, I took on my first cycling challenge for Stepping Stones.

Stepping Stones serve a large district and provide support for nursery children who have a range of special educational needs. They provide therapies to the children and help them learn some of the social skills that so many take for granted, but they also give invaluable support to the parents who might well feel daunted by the challenges ahead.

With Stepping Stones in your corner, no parent has to feel alone! With Stepping Stones in your corner, parents have a wealth of experience to call upon to help navigate a way through the anxieties and arrive at a place where children have the best possible chance to thrive!

My experience of living with autism has been one of significant struggle. Last year, having seen the state of our world, I realised that if I couldn't fix the world, I could perhaps do something locally to make a difference to the community I Live in. Stepping Stones has earned a really special place in my heart and so I bought a bike and cycled from my home in Melksham to Weymouth!

As much as I took this challenge on for myself and my family members who attended and were helped by Stepping Stones, I did this for you! The parent I will never meet and the child who will benefit so much from this fabulous nursery but who's journey I will never know.

Last time, we raised over £3500 and I am excited to take on another challenge for Stepping Stones! This time we will be Racing To Pirates Cove!!!

On 27th August I take a three day race to Pirates Cove (Lands End)

On day 1, I will ride for about 8 hours to get from Bath City Football Club to Tiverton Town!

On Day 2 I will ride for about 9 hours and up some killer hills to get to Newquay!

Finally, on Day 3 I will ride for about 6 hours to get to the legendary sign post at Lands End!

I have always told my daughter that a single idea can change the world we live in. It can unite a community achieve things that you might never have imagined. The power of one idea can spark the fires of change.
