Race to the stones 2026

On 11th July, I am stepping far outside my comfort zone to tackle a gruelling 100km ultramarathon in a single day.

Every single step of this 100-kilometre journey is being driven by one vital mission: raising life-changing funds for the Mercian Benevolent charity.

Why the Mercian Benevolent charity?
As a serving soldier in The Mercian Regiment, I know firsthand what it means to stand side-by-side with my fellow soldiers. We train together, deploy together, and rely on each other in the toughest conditions. But the battles our personnel face don't always happen on deployment. Sometimes, the hardest fight begins at home.
That is why I am pushing my body to its absolute limit to raise vital funds for the Mercian Benevolent charity.

The Challenge Ahead
To put it into perspective, 100km is:

• Two and a half marathons back-to-back.
• 100,000 steps over unforgiving terrain.
• Hours of continuous physical and mental battle against exhaustion, blisters, and pain.

When my legs feel like lead at kilometre 70 and my mind is telling me to quit, knowing that your donations are directly changing the lives of Mercian heroes will be the fuel that keeps me moving forward.

How You Can Help —Our military community gives everything to protect our country. This run is my way of ensuring no Mercian soldier is ever left to struggle alone.
