Raising money for MY Names Doddie

Hi everyone,

Last June, my father was diagnosed with MND. It’s something that took me a long time to come to terms with, but eventually I realised I needed to do something to help in the fight against it.

I’ve been hugely inspired by the incredible efforts of so many people over the past few years who have raised awareness and support for this cause. My dad has always been a massive inspiration to me — throughout my rugby career and in showing me what it means to be a good person. But even knowing him as well as I do, I wasn’t prepared for the strength and determination he’s shown in taking on MND head-on.

That’s why I’ve decided to run the Newport Half Marathon, with the goal of raising as much money as possible. I truly believe a cure is out there — it just hasn’t been found yet.
