Mark Haywood is raising money for Pitt Hopkins UK
Following Lila's tragic accident in early May 2022, I vowed to keep her legacy going. To be honest, it also helps me focus and provides me with my new life's work; fund raising! My aim is to collectively raise £1 million for Pitt-Hopkins during my lifetime. A tall order I know, but best to aim high!
So the first challenge in my long list is to ride the UK's favourite cycle route; C2C on Saturday 12th November, often thought to stand for ‘Coast to Coast’, but the name is actually short for ‘Sea to Sea’. The iconic route is 137 miles between the Irish Sea and the North Sea, from Cumbria to Tyneside, passing through the northern Lake District before climbing the Pennines and descending to the railway paths of County Durham.
Best of all I will be cycling the route with two old school mates (both still very young at heart and fit). David McCabe and David Keate, both legends!
