Remembering Zac 10k

I am running / walking the Worcester 10K, Sunday 17th September.

The last time I did this was in 2018, two days before Zac's funeral, 16th September 2018, because then I had been training on a regular basis and had booked into this event many months before. I took my medal to the funeral home straight afterwards to show Zac, because the year before he was with me.

This year is the 5th anniversary of his death, the day he decided to end his life on the 25th August, his funeral was on the 18th September. So, 5 years later on the 17th September I am trying again!! This time with one of my volunteers!

I booked to do this event in January, I didn't sign up to ask people for money the ones I am in touch with who may give already have given or do give so much in money or their time, so I don't like to put pressure on people. I am also so busy running the charity.

At Behind the Sm;le we support those bereaved by suicide and those with poor mental health, we don't simply facilitate peer support groups, we advocate for people, by attending meetings with them, helping with forms etc, we have befreinders, we support on a daily basis via phone, text and email, we arrange social events such as meet ups at cafe's, days out to seaside / National Trust etc.

More importantly we listen !
