My story

This will be my 1st 'real' marathon, although I did run 5 in 5 days with Budge & Tony in March 2022.

Former Leeds Rhinos player Rob Burrow was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in December 2019. Since then, Rob and his family have campaigned tirelessly to raise awareness and funds to support other families living with MND.

The Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon will see over 10,000 participants take on a brand new route through Leeds that starts and finishes at Headingley Stadium. Taking in some of Leeds’ most scenic countryside and outer suburbs, the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon will be a fitting tribute to the city that launched Rob’s career and which he calls home.

This is an event that truly is for everyone, so whether you are an experienced runner or have never thought about running an event before, we welcome all abilities to join us in 2023 for this very special event.

I am very grateful for the support for the MND charities I support.

I am running not just for Doddie & Rob, but for sufferers of MND, their carers & loved ones. There needs to be a cure and my motivation is to help play a small part with raising funds to help achieve this goal..

My Name'5 Doddie Foundation is an incredible Foundation and does important work to for a cure to this cruel disease. As Doddie Weir himself said - "it's not incurable, it's underfunded." I am determined to contribute to the efforts and #BePartoftheCure.

Thanks for your support. All donations make a big difference.

My page donations will be sent direct to My Name'5 Doddie Foundation in a fast and secure way. Its efficient, saves time and cuts costs for the charity. Let's do this!
