Running for EBS - Edinburgh half marathon

This year I will be taking on Edinburgh half marathon on Sunday 24th May for the DEBRA charity.

DEBRA is the national charity that supports people living with Epidermolysis Bullosa Simplex (EBS), a rare and incredibly painful genetic skin condition that causes the skin to blister and tear, also described as ‘butterfly skin’.

My husband Robbie and our daughter Caitlin, both suffer from EBS. Everyday they face challenges dealing with fragile skin that leads to blisters mainly on their feet, especially in the warmer months.

This is something that not only has a physical toll but an emotional and mental toll on them and their families, as well having to plan daily routines, social activities and work around the condition. Caitlin has a very testing time trying to manage this whilst playing camogie.
