Emily Makey is raising money for Babons Cancer Support
Babons Cancer Support was started by my best friend’s family in honour of her grandma, lovingly known as Babon, after she passed away from cancer in 2022. It’s such a special charity, created with a lot of love, and I’ve seen the amazing work they do to support people affected by cancer. I’m incredibly proud to support it.
This cause means a lot to me personally too — like so many others, my own family has experienced the pain of losing loved ones to cancer. So, this run is for them, for Babon, and for everyone facing this fight. Running 26.2 miles is going to be a challenge, but knowing it’s for something so meaningful keeps me motivated.
