My story

Thank you for visiting my 'everyclick' donation page!
I would love to tell you a little bit about how we all got into this mess oh sorry i meant challenge...

In June this year, an idea was floating around to audition to become one of Alfie's Angels. A few of you may have watched the Welsh Rugby Superstar Gareth Thomas series last year where he took a group of ladies from Deri, who themselves have admitted they couldnt run anywhere and transformed their lives and every single one crossed the finish line of Cardiff's half marathon.
Well back then we thought 2016 was our year!!

So myself, Susan Francis, Sarah Llewellyn, Kate White and Glenn White made an audition video and surprisingly managed to get ourselves picked to become part Gareth Thomas' 2016 Alfie's Angels!!!!
Anyone who knows me will tell you this is so out of my comfort zone, I struggled running up the stairs and didn't even own a pair of trainers!!!
Since then as a team we have worked so hard out running, walking and even crawling in all sorts of weather conditions (we are in Wales after all!!).
We are all determined to cross that finishing line on Sunday 2nd October 2016.

Nobody was more shocked than me when I managed a 6.5 mile run at the beginning September without an embarrassing time so here's to the half marathon and the stubbornness we all have not to let it beat us!!

Our group, have two chosen charities Motor Neuron Disease Association (MNDA) an association very close to three of our team members hearts and a very worthwhile cause and Bridgend Samaritans as our group includes 3 Samaritan volunteers who are very passionate about this brilliant charity.

I have chosen to fundraise for Bridgend Samaritans. I have been a volunteer here for a little while now and I can't say enough how close to my heart this charity is. We as Samaritans are open 24/7 meaning we can be there for people when everyone else is asleep or busy with daily life or even cooking their christmas dinner!! I can't solve problems, or fix issues but as a Samaritan I can listen (yes i've been trained too!!) and sometimes all you need is someone who listens to you! We aren't just a branch we are volunteers who also speak in schools, listen in prison, hospital, town centers in an evening and much more. We are trying to reach out to people who need that little bit of emotional confidential support.

Im fundraising for Bridgend Samaritans cause hopefully you will never need us but if you do we want to be there for you!
Any donations to this page will go straight to the Bridgend Branch of Samaritans helping our emotional support continue.

Thank you for taking the time to read my page and the support. We can do this!!

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Bridgend Samaritans.
