Walk to Save our St John Bosco Church, Woodley

My Story:
Our parish church, St John Bosco Church in Woodley, is much more than a building to me. It is a place of faith, prayer, friendship and community. It is where families come together to celebrate important moments in life, to pray together and to find comfort and hope.
Over the years, St John Bosco Church has become an important part of my family's life. It is a place where we have shared many special memories and where our children have grown in faith. The church brings our parish community together and provides a welcoming home for generations of families.
Today, our church in urgent need of our help. The church is in real danger of closure unless we can raise £250,000 to replace the roof. We are coming together as a parish community to raise the funds needed to protect and maintain our church for the future.
 
My Charity Walk:
To support this important cause, I will be taking part in a 12.5 km sponsored walk on Saturday, 19th September 2026.
I will walk along the beautiful Thames Path from Henley to St John Bosco Church in Woodley, completing the 12.5 km journey to help raise money for the church roof replacement.
For me, this walk is more than simply walking 12.5 km. Every step represents my commitment to our parish and to preserving a place that means so much to our families and community.
I am walking for our church, for our families, for our children and for future generations. I hope that, together, we can ensure that St John Bosco Church continues to be a place where people can come together in faith, celebrate life's special moments and find support when they need it.
