Sea Cadet Santa Run

Event date: 4th December 2022

Oliver, Harshini, Stuart & Branko are raising money for Marlow Sea Cadets

Our story

Marlow Sea Cadet Parents Oliver and Harshini and friends Branko and Stuart are dressing up as bad Santas and running/walking to raise money for the unit.

Why is it closer to our hearts?
We moved to Marlow during Covid 19 pandemic – Marlow Sea Cadet helped our then 10-year-old to come out of her shell and find new local friends. Sea cadet become a second family!

The amazing volunteers creates a nurturing and fun space for cadets; through camaraderie they look after each other and try things they’ve never done before.
Everyone is equal – chatting, striving, and cheering each other on. There’s a lot of respect in the air.

''One in six children between aged 6 to 16 in England, had a probable mental health condition in 2021. This is due to many factors widening gap between rich and poor is seeing huge numbers of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds being shut out of opportunities due to cost, lack of support, screens and being cooped up inside.''

Young cadets are taught life lessons through many activities and training programs on water and off the water. Equipped with the resilience, self-belief, and social confidence they need to make a life for themselves.
The volunteers take these responsibilities extremely seriously; they create a fun, safe environment by continuously supporting the Cadets to thrive.

Your kind contribution will offer the unit to send more children on courses, keep the unit warm during winter months and buy equipment’s for summer months.
