Running the marathon

I’m Running Two Big Marathons for Up Movement 💙

On 26th April 2026, I’ll be running the London Marathon, thanks to a charity spot generously given to me by Up Movement.

Up Movement is an amazing charity supporting adults living with Cerebral Palsy — a condition that affects movement, coordination and mobility. Most people hear about CP in kids, but too often adults’ challenges get forgotten as they age. Up Movement is changing that.

This past year (2025) has been a big one: the charity has raised awareness, grown support networks, and made real strides in ensuring adults with CP aren’t left behind. It’s inspiring work, and I’m proud to be a part of helping them push it forward.

For me, this cause hits close to home. My mum was born with Cerebral Palsy, and over the years I’ve watched her face mobility challenges with more courage and determination than anyone I know. Even as she gets older, she still finds the energy to run around after her grandchildren, her strength and her reliance is truly inspirational to me and my family. To run for a charity that supports people like her is a real honour.

To get ready for the London Marathon (and give myself plenty of training motivation), I’ll also be running the Mount Eryri (Snowdonia) Marathon on 25th October 2025. That route is no joke — it climbs about 838 metres (2,749 ft) overall.   One of the tougher sections is just after Waunfawr, where your legs feel it hard before you make your way back down into Llanberis.
