As part of my company's (Risk Vision) ongoing partnership with Farms for City Children, I am taking on the challenge of a 15km Tough Mudder run, along with a number of friends.

Risk Vision is proud to support Farms for City Children, a charity that offers transformative experiences for children and young people from underserved backgrounds to connect with food, farming and the natural world.

Through immersive, five-day residential visits to one of their heritage farms in Devon, Gloucestershire or Pembrokeshire, children become farmers for a week. They step into wellies, care for livestock, grow, harvest and cook food, and connect with nature in a way many have never experienced before.

The rewards last long after they return home. Farms for City Children's holistic programme enhances learning, nurtures wellbeing and builds transferable skills. Children grow in resilience, confidence and teamwork, while forming lasting connections with food, farming, nature, and each other.

Having last taken on the Tough Mudder in 2016, this is a bit of a personal challenge for myself just to see if, 9 years later, I've still got it in me to tackle the obstacles and keep on moving. But there are no times to monitor, no speeds to reach, no reps to target. Instead, the event is simply about a group of friends having fun and supporting each other from the start to the finish.
