Snowden challenge

Event date: 16th March 2024

Greg Smith is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support

My story

We climbed Scafell Pike last year to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Care after my Dad was diagnosed with CLL.  This weekend my son and I are tackling Snowden from Llanberis in his memory.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Macmillan Cancer Support.

My updates

Homeward bound after completing your hike in 5:20 mins we headed back and stopped at the Ugly House cafe for a well earned treat.

After making our way back to base we had covered over 20km hiking, 32.5k steps and 3730ft of elevation gain.

Feeling a bit sore and very wet from the weather.

As we made it closer to Llanberis again we could see the track we had taken on the way up and we realised just how far we had been.

Making our way back down alongside the railway track was still windy, but not as wet.  Some great views when the clould cleared for us.

Not too much of a view for us today, but a great sense of achievement making it to the top for Joshua and I
