Richard Hemingway is raising money for Welsh Air Ambulance Charitable Trust
On Saturday 25th June 2016 we will be climbing four mountains in Snowdonia in just 24 hours, all in aid of the Wales Air Ambulance Trust!
So far the group consists of Richard Hemingway (Cambrian/Continental Motorcycle Tyres), Lee Davies (well known Welsh bike nut!), Kathy Wood (Moto Freight), Llel Pavey (Brake Magazine contributor & Dakar Rally Competitor) and fellow experienced climber Dan McGrath from St Helens.
In total we will be climbing more than 12,000 feet in 24 hours, starting and returning to the base of each mountain.
Starting in Llanberis with Wales highest peak Snowdon (3,560ft) we then move on to the tough scramble up Tryfan (3,011ft) from the heather terrace, followed by the iconic three steps of Aran Fawddwy (2,969ft) to the south of Bala Lake, and finally Cadair Idris (2,930ft) in time for the sunrise on the Sunday morning.
With Lee's wife Helen also being involved by helping to transport us between each mountain, we have the potential to double any funds raised up to a maximum of £3,000 through her employer Santander.
Every year the Wales Air Ambulance attends hundreds of incidents across the country, many involving motorcyclists, providing a fantastic free service which gives people speedy access to essential medical care. Each flight costs around £1,500 and this organisation is kept going only through public donations. With match funding from Santander, if we can meet our target and raise enough in money to fund two missions, we really do have the potential to save lives in the process.
Thank you in advance for your help!
