For LGBTQI+ people fleeing countries where their identity is criminalised, the UK’s hardening stance on immigration is not a policy issue it is a matter of survival. Many arrive only to face suspicion, unsafe accommodation, and the impossible task of proving their queerness to a skeptical system.
